Okay, so perhaps this isn't the most original topic to post about, seeing as the movie came out last week and everything, but it's all I've got.
Mike, Brian, and I decided to brave the elements(such as they are) and we went to one of the local theaters. One that happens to have an I-Max screen. Oh, it was glorious.
I must confess that I haven't read the graphic novel that corresponds to the film, but I fully intend to make it my next purchase at Borders. Frank Miller has produced some amazing comics, and the movie adaptations have been great so far. I've always enjoyed Greek history, and seeing the Battle of Thermopalyae adapted in this way was pretty cool. The visual style was very much like that of Sin City, with the film being described in shades more than in colors. My compatriots were also very impressed with the movie, though more for the number of nude women and vengeful killings than for style elements and interpretations. The recurring theme of freedom not being free speaks very deeply to me; I believe that we should be willing to fight for what we have. However, to prevent this from becoming my personal political soap box, I'm going to avoid that topic.
All in all, I think it was very well done, and I would gladly go see it again. I would probably give a rating of 4.5 out of 5 ninja stars.
Hey, you know what's cool? This is the first time I've said "300" in this whole post. Damn, I wish I was a better writer.

Hehe. I just noticed that I made a funny with my blog title and the post title. Seriously though, the service in Hell is terrible.
I see paige has managed to convince you to get a blog.
Doesn't look like I'm going to be able to come see you this weekend.
I've seen it twice. My personal tanking of The movie was about a 3.5 stars on my shoulder out of 5.
